Horicon Middle School is our district's new home for students in grades six through eight. Middle school years are pivotal in students' development, both academically and personally. Here in Horicon Middle School, students and families will find a highly-dedicated staff of wonderful professionals who will work to provide the best environment and the best education possible for each student. We are driven to live up to the School District of Horicon's Mission:
Educate. Engage. Empower. Every Day.
We expect everyone to succeed, and we will work hard to help students learn academics, interpersonal skills, habits, and attitudes that will help them throughout their lives. It is our goal to help students learn how to learn so they can succeed in any situation in which they find themselves.
Our staff is welcoming, friendly, and professional. We believe in building connections with our students and making sure they know they are valued in our learning community. We will set high standards for students, just as we do for ourselves, and we will provide the supports needed by each student to achieve those standards.
We recognize that parents and guardians are very important components of our school community. We welcome and encourage parents to partner with us in providing educational opportunities and supports for our students. Parents can help by providing appropriate guidance and encouragement to their students, and by communicating with our staff often. We strongly encourage attendance at Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences. The Horicon PTO is another valuable conduit for parent involvement. If you wish to be involved in other ways, please contact me.
This is an exciting time, with long-anticipated changes and improvements to our school facility and structure. I am excited to work with this wonderful mix of students and with the fine teachers who will instruct them. Let's make this a great year together!
