As of July 21, 2025, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends the following regarding COVID-19:
Vaccination:
- The CDC no longer recommends routine COVID-19 vaccination for healthy individuals.
- However, individuals at high risk for severe illness, such as those over 65, immunocompromised individuals, and pregnant or breastfeeding women, are still recommended to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
Booster Shots:
- Individuals who received their primary series of COVID-19 vaccines and are at high risk for severe illness may consider getting a booster shot, depending on the time since their last dose and the circulating variants.
Testing and Treatment:
- If you develop symptoms of COVID-19, get tested and isolate yourself to prevent spreading the virus.
- Antiviral medications are available for treatment of COVID-19 in high-risk individuals.
Masking and Social Distancing:
- The CDC no longer recommends routine masking or social distancing for most people.
- However, individuals who test positive for COVID-19 or are at high risk for severe illness may consider wearing masks and avoiding close contact with others.
Stay Informed:
- Continue to monitor the CDC website and other reliable sources for updates on COVID-19 recommendations.
Please note that these recommendations may vary depending on local conditions and the evolving nature of the virus. It is important to consult with your healthcare provider for personalized guidance.
