The PSAT helps prepare juniors for the SAT and can qualify them for the National Merit Scholarships. The PSAT is given at HHS during October every year.
The ACT test is required for admission to many colleges. College-bound students are advised to take the ACT during February, April or June of their junior year. Students should register on-line.
Some colleges prefer The SAT test. Students should check to see if schools they are interested in require it. If required, those college-bound students should register for the SAT during the spring of their junior year.
: This test is required for military service. Scores are valid for two years.
Advanced Placement Tests:
AP tests can be taken by students enrolled in AP classes and are given in the spring each year. Students who score at a specified level are eligible to receive college credit. Students may request to take AP exams in any area, regardless of whether they have taken that AP course.
