Welcome to Van Brunt Elementary School!

Van Brunt is home to nearly 400 wonderful early childhood through sixth grade learners, and an incredible group of teachers and support staff.  We are extremely proud of the hard work and dedication of our students, staff, and families.  Together we strive to find success for all students as we create a positive, productive learning environment.  Our district’s vision, Striving for Excellence in Education, can be seen every day in our classrooms, on the playground, and in the halls of Van Brunt Elementary.  We are proud of being recognized as a PBIS School of Merit in the 2013-2014 school year and a PBIS School of Distinction in the 2015-2016 school year.  These accomplishments highlight some of the great things in place at Van Brunt.  We believe that all students are capable of learning at high levels and we encourage learners to approach tasks with a growth mindset.  We celebrate the learning process and value every Van Brunt student, staff member, and family.   I welcome you to contact us to learn more about the great opportunities for your child at Van Brunt Elementary.

Community Survey

Please take a moment  to respond to the link below and complete the survey regarding the future of the School District of Horicon and the Community of Horicon.  This survey is the result of a joint effort between the City of Horicon, The School District of Horicon and the Chamber of Commerce of Horicon to reach out to members of our community and those who are don't reside in Horicon, but commute to our city for work.

We are conducting this survey to better answer the following questions with confidence:

  • What are we doing well?
  • Where do we need to improve?
  • Where do we need to adjust and/or focus more resources?
  • What are our highest planning priorities?
  • How can we attract new and retain current residents to Horicon?

Collecting this feedback is a critical part of the process; therefore, we are asking that you take a few minutes to share your thoughts with us by completing this survey.

Please take 5 minutes to complete this survey prior to May 12th.  Hard copies of the survey will also be available in the school district office or at the city library.

To launch the survey, you can use/forward this link:  http://schoolperceptions.com/spAppSurvey/DL?loginId=9C8Y-ZCN7-57DH-KJ73

2017 Summer School Registration

We are excited to welcome you to our 2017 Summer School Program.  We have many new and interesting classes to offer and we hope you will consider sending your child.  This year our program runs from June 12th to June 29th.  The times are from 8:00 a.m.-11:55 a.m. Monday through Thursday.  There will be no summer school on Fridays this year.

We are hoping to get as many students involved as possible and into the classes they prefer, so please register your child as soon as possible.  Classes will be assigned on a first come first serve basis.  We are confident that it will be a fun and enriching experience for all.

All Jump Start enrichment classes will be held in August.  You will need to register for Jump Start sessions separately from the June Summer School offerings.  There will be NO bus service offered during the August session.

Van Brunt will once again be offering (during these 12 June days only) FREE BREAKFAST and FREE LUNCH to all Horicon School District children age 18 and under.  For summer school students breakfast will run from 7:45-8:00 and lunch will run from 12:00-12:30.  Breakfast will be served for the public from 7:45-8:15 and lunch will be served for the public from 11:30-12:30.  Buses will not leave Van Brunt until after lunch is served.
